I then realized how much stuff was just straight up left out compared to Animal Crossing Bells every single previous entry and I guess in hindsight I probably should have known this was a"we'll finish adding old features to the match later" kind of thing. It's not a bad game, but boy does it pale in comparison to New Leaf occasionally. Additionally some of the holidays are actively less interesting than their New Leaf counterparts. Fireworks festivals substituted all the cute Showa Era Nintendo toy furniture with balloons, pinwheels, etc of varying colours.

The furniture variety in this game is really, really lame, and a few of the alterations to how certain shops are managed is frustrating occasionally. Why is it that Leif and Kicks only ever visit? Why not fold them into Nook's Cranny along with the Able Sisters respectively? Why does the Museum only have description plaques for artwork today? What is up with the public works things which didn't get turned into furniture? No Gyroids to accumulate? It is just a lot of little things that actually accumulate into big things.

And it's particularly true for a string that's iterative for the most part. Good features from past games are nearly always brought to later games. The main exceptions are gimmicks depending on the console or small features that are awesome but ultimately not match changing. NH ditched a lot of series principles which really hurts in the event that you've been a long time fan. I believe a good deal of the NH fans have not played the previous games so they do not have these attributes to overlook. That good for them but it feels hollow to me.

Yeah, this is kind of the way I've been looking at it lately. Like, yes it introduced a few really great new ideas from the way of outdoor decorating (which very much feels like the natural next step for the show ) and the landscaping tools. The crafting system is a pretty nifty way to provide players kind of Buy Nook Miles Ticket mini-goals. Not ideal but it's a neat idea.
